Tara's 1st Mothers day was a huge success. Lil, Allie and I were able to pull together some great ideas to surprise Mom with. Since our plan was to paint Tara a picture, we had to get her out of the house long enough to contrive the masterpiece. That was the easy part. Keeping the paint out of Lily's mouth was not so easy. Although somehow we managed to dip Lils hands and feet in the paint and went to work. The artwork is now framed and is looking for the perfect wall in our humble abode. Aside from the artwork, Lily and I got up early and cooked a big breakfast for mom. We helped her clean up the house and even designed a "Swifter Shirt" for Lily to wear so that she could roll around the hardwood floors. (I taped swifter pads to a one-zy) Tara said we can't show our blog reader's those pics because she was ashamed at how dirty her floors were.
Aside from a busy Mothers Day, we are happy as can be here at the Owen house. I am busy at work with all the bad weather, not to mention earthquakes that have affected Illinois. Tara has plans to return to her job in mid-August. She is excited to get back and see the people she works with, although it might kill her to be away from Lil. The two of them are sure to have a great and very memorable summer.
Here are some updated pics of Lil...
